About the Role

The Junior Account Executive (DOD) will support sales growth by building relationships with government buyers, contractors, and defense accounts. This role includes identifying bid opportunities, navigating procurement platforms like DIBBS and SAM.gov , and ensuring compliance with federal contracting standards.

The ideal candidate has sharp attention to detail, a passion for defense support, and a desire to grow in the aerospace and military sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Account Relationship Management

  • Assist in quoting, purchasing, and administrative sales processes with speed and accuracy

  • Shadow senior account executives to learn strategic client management

  • Conduct follow-ups and account reviews to ensure high-level service

Government Bid Support & Compliance

  • Learn and assist in identifying government bid opportunities on DIBBS , SAM.gov , and related platforms

  • Support proposal creation, documentation prep, and internal compliance reviews

  • Ensure contracts align with ITAR , FAR , and company quality standards

Business Development

  • Research and pursue new relationships with military, government agencies, and defense contractors

  • Help develop outreach strategies based on funding cycles and procurement schedules

  • Expand relationships within aerospace and defense networks

Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Collaborate on sales targets for government and defense accounts

  • Manage pipeline activity and assist in closing contracts sourced from marketing or referrals

  • Follow a clear sales plan tied to strategic customer development

Product Knowledge & Market Research

  • Build strong product knowledge in aerospace metals and their defense applications

  • Stay current on military/defense market trends and share insights with the team

  • Present customized solutions based on client and contract needs

Negotiation & Contract Management

  • Participate in client-facing negotiations, ensuring mutual value and regulatory alignment

  • Support accurate, policy-compliant contract development with internal teams

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate with internal departments — especially QC, Logistics, and Compliance — for seamless delivery

  • Relay client feedback to product and leadership teams to improve offerings

  • Align DOD sales strategy with company-wide initiatives and quality goals

CRM & Reporting

  • Maintain detailed activity logs and sales updates in CRM (Pentagon)

  • Prepare reports on account performance, market movement, and strategic actions

  • Use sales data and feedback to help refine approach and execution

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, or related field (preferred)

  • 1–2 years of experience in sales, account management, or similar (preferred)

  • Familiarity with DIBBS , SAM.gov , or government procurement processes (strong plus)

  • Military, government, or defense contractor experience is highly valued

  • CRM proficiency (Salesforce preferred); Microsoft Office Suite required

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
