Glen Park at Long Beach is currently seeking a compassionate, energetic, and creative Activities Director to plan and lead meaningful programs that promote engagement, independence, and joy for our residents. Duties and Responsibilities Design and conduct activities for residents that encourage continued social functioning and independence in daily activities. Ensure programs incorporate the following focus areas: Social Engagement: Group discussions, current events, bingo, arts and crafts, music, pet care, and more. Daily Living Skills: Activities promoting independence, such as walks, snacks, and outings for breakfast and lunch. Leisure and Hobbies: Card games, bowling, movie matinees, gardening, and resident-driven activities. Physical Activities: Strength, coordination, and range of motion exercises like dancing and Velcro games. Education: Safety presentations, travel talks, and Bible studies. While this list highlights primary duties, other responsibilities may be involved to support residents and staff. This is not an exhaustive list. Minimum Qualifications At least 18 years of age. Preferred: One year of related experience with seniors or individuals with memory impairment. Valid Driver's License. Current Basic First Aid and CPR training. Compassion, energy, and effective communication skills to work with seniors, families, and staff. Pre-employment background checks, drug screening, employment verification, and references are required.
