Activities Director (Program and Outreach Director) Reports directly to the Executive Director. Purpose The Program and Outreach Director oversees a resident‑centered activities program that promotes and integrates the Phoenix Senior Living philosophy to incorporate wellness in all aspects of the seniors’ lives we serve. The Director is responsible for developing, leading, and overseeing a program that ensures all dimensions (emotional, sense of purpose, physical, social, intellectual, and spiritual) are incorporated into the services we provide and embrace. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting in recruiting, hiring, and training the Assistant Program and Outreach Director. Resident Care Participates in Personalized Service Plans (PSP) Refers to the Resident Profile and addendum for each new resident Ensures a variety of appropriate and personalized activities that incorporate all dimensions of wellness and are available throughout the day and evening with resident care associate participation Maintains the PSL Activity & Program Guidebook, tracking daily resident participation Uses demographic profile information to organize small groups or clubs for residents with similar needs and preferences Recognizes changes in resident condition and takes appropriate action Assists residents to and from activity rooms as necessary In memory care, assists residents to and from Life Skills and other normalizing life‑enriching activities and routines, and engages them Maintains inventory of activity and programming supplies, games, programs, and crafts Schedules, communicates, assists with facilitation, and records monthly resident Council Requirements Education / Experience / License‑Certification Associate degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Administration, Gerontology, or a related field (preferred) 1–3 years of experience in senior living/skilled nursing activity & event planning, which may include moderate to large event planning responsibilities outside the senior living industry Demonstrated leadership capabilities Knowledge and experience in Assisted Living industry and dementia care (preferred) Physical Requirements In an 8‑hour workday, may stand/walk: 0–2 hours at a time; 4–6 hours total May sit: 0–2 hours at a time; 2–4 hours total May drive 30–60 minutes, 1–2 times per week May support/assist lifting up to 50 lbs. regularly; up to 150 lbs. occasionally May lift/carry up to 40 lbs. regularly; up to 70 lbs. occasionally; lift height 3–4 feet; carry distance 30 yards Use hands for repetitive simple grasping, pushing, pulling, fine manipulation Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb frequently; reach occasionally up to 3 feet Seniority Level Director Employment Type Full‑time Job Function Administrative Industries: Hospitals and Health Care Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Phoenix Senior Living by 2x.
