A day in the life of an activity assistant:

• Plan daily activities, both in-house and outdoor excursions (when possible)
• Encourage patients (and occasionally their family members) to participate in events
• Keep the facility calendar updated to ensure there are no scheduling conflicts with other events
• Document patient participation

Qualifications:

• Must be 16 or older
• Previous experience in a long-term care, hospital or other institutional setting (preferred, not required)
• Desire to work with the elderly and provide exceptional customer service.
• Must be a self-starter and able to work independently and efficiently
• Reliable transportation
