About UC Blue Ash

The Business & Economics Department at UC Blue Ash invites applicants for our Information Systems general pool of candidates from which part-time faculty will be selected for the upcoming term (as needed).

The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College is one of the largest regional colleges in Ohio. The college is located fifteen miles north of the main uptown campus, on 135 acres in a park-like setting. We offer primarily associate degrees in career and transition programs, as well as general education courses and technical baccalaureate degrees to approximately 5,100 students. The college is a recipient of the Cincinnati Business Courier 2021 Best Places to Work award.

The Department of Business & Economics has 16 full-time and more than a dozen adjunct faculty members who are committed to teaching. Our department currently offers a 2-year associate degree in Pre-Business Administration, a transfer-oriented program for the bachelor's degree offered by the Lindner College of Business (LCOB) at the University of Cincinnati Uptown campus. We value excellent teaching and personalized student support to help students achieve their goals, whether the goal is to enter a career or to continue their education.

Job Overview

Adjunct faculty are expected to teach courses in Information Systems. Courses may include Digital Technologies in Business, Applied Technology, or Office Administration Technology.

The courses may be offered in-person, online, or a hybrid. Class sizes normally range from 15-30 students. Adjunct Instructors would teach 1-2 courses each fall and spring terms. All classes may be offered day or evening. This position is not eligible for Visa or green card sponsorship.

Essential Functions

  • On a part-time basis, teach assigned undergraduate courses.
  • Using our course management system (Canvas) and any textbook-specific systems, as well as other relevant classroom technology.
  • Hold regular office hours to meet with students.
  • Using best practices, continually evaluate student coursework.
  • Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of their responsibilities.

Required Education

Prior to the effective date of the appointment, the selected candidate must have:

  • A Master's degree in Information Technology/Information Systems with three (3) years professional experience
  • -OR- A Master's degree in Business Administration, or a related field of study with ten years professional experience.

Required Experience

  • One (1) year of academic teaching experience at the college level or relevant teaching/training experience in industry.
