Position Summary:
This role is responsible for the repair and maintenance of manual, semi-automated, and fully automated Special Test Equipment (STE), including systems based on PXI and PC platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of legacy Windows operating systems and the ability to perform PC-level maintenance and repairs. Experience with hard drive cloning and image backups is required. The position works closely with production technicians to troubleshoot test equipment issues and supports engineering development, equipment calibration, and procedure reviews. This position reports to the Test Engineering Manager or Project Lead.

Essential Responsibilities:
Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain and repair various types of Special Test Equipment used in production
  • Operate lab equipment such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and data loggers
  • Interface with communication protocols including GPIB, RS232, RS422, CAN, ARINC-429, and MIL-STD-1553
  • Perform PC diagnostics, repair, and maintenance
  • Work with PXI embedded controllers and PXI hardware systems
  • Troubleshoot and support systems running legacy operating systems (DOS, Windows 3.1, XP, etc.)
  • Interpret and work with electronic circuitry and perform component-level troubleshooting
  • Support electromechanical systems, including motors, gears, pumps, and load systems
  • Read and understand electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
  • Assist in the design and maintenance of Automated Test Equipment
  • Knowledge of NI LabVIEW, NI TestStand, and MS Visual Basic 6.0 is considered a plus

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical training
  • 4–5 years of hands-on experience maintaining and repairing Special Test Equipment
  • Strong multitasking and workload prioritization skills
  • Technical writing experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
