Job Description

Thinking about a career in healthcare? Working as a Medical Scribe can be a great introduction into the world of medicine. Medical Scribes work side-by-side with healthcare providers (physicians, PAs, NPs) and document each patient's visit directly in the electronic medical record system as the visit occurs in real time. Essential Scribe is currently hiring candidates looking for valuable real clinical experience with leading healthcare providers.

Medical Scribing is a paid position with paid training. Candidates will gain an extensive base of medical terminology and clinical information while also gaining on-the-job clinical exposure. The position is ideal for pre-healthcare students and postgraduate students planning work in the healthcare field.

No prior scribing experience is required! Essential Scribe has a thorough and supportive training program which prepares candidates to accurately document patient encounters, and assist the healthcare provider under their direct supervision. Qualified applicants undergo approximately 120 hours of initial training. Successful candidates will continue to work surrounded by mentors, and receive ongoing continuing education.

We are currently hiring for several locations in outpatient clinics and Emergency Departments.

Benefits:

  • Prepare for a career in medicine and get ahead of the curve by working side-by-side with a professional healthcare provider
  • Gain an extensive understanding of medical terminology in a clinical setting where you will be paid to shadow and work alongside healthcare providers
  • Work as an essential part of a real healthcare team
  • Learn much more than just charting by becoming the physician's right-hand man
Job Requirements

  • College degree, or current enrollment in a 2-4 year program
  • Minimum of 2-4 shifts a week
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to clearly communicate, orally and in writing
  • Responsible and mature individual with a passion for healthcare and learning
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Minimum typing speed of 65 WPM
