About the Role As our first Business Analytics hire, you will be focused on driving business growth by analyzing and deriving insights from our internal datasets. You'll be working with business, GTM/underwriting, product, and market data and be expected to find signals within the noise. This is a high-impact, high visibility role and you will get to partner closely with teams across Shepherd to evaluate key questions, leverage data to solve problems, and strategize on business growth levers. We have offices in San Francisco (HQ) and New York City. We love working together in person and are looking for candidates who can be onsite at our San Francisco HQ. Responsibilities Understand how Shepherd's business operates and conduct deep dive analyses on business and GTM questions Identify, develop, and track key performance indicators to evaluate business performance Create and maintain various reports and dashboards using SQL Understand and meet key stakeholders' ongoing analytics needs and deliver actionable, data-driven recommendations Design and run data experiments to identify growth levers for the business Maintain, optimize, and adopt best practices for our Business Intelligence tool (we currently use Metabase but this is subject to change) Support internal and external reporting requirements Create and maintain required documentation to ensure effective collaboration and onboarding for future teammates Ensure data quality and integrity through robust QA processes You would be our dream candidate if... 4+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, data science, or related fields (bonus: experience with revenue/sales/GTM analytics and operations) Expertise in SQL (must-have) and Python/R (nice-to-have) Expertise in Excel and data visualization/BI tools Experience with dbt (nice-to-have) Excellent communication skills and ability to demonstrate business acumen when presenting data insights Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high quality deliverables Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment Strong prioritization and deadline management skills Collaborative mindset with experience partnering across teams Salary Range The salary range for this role is $135,000 to $178,000 for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Shepherd's total compensation package for employees.
