Enhance the clinical strategy of Memorial Healthcare System, champion quality, align providers to reduce variation in care, drive physician engagement, foster clinical effectiveness, and implement a culture of excellence in the delivery of clinical services.
The Chief Medical Officer (HeC_JGA) develops and implements processes that promote innovative, patient-centered care delivery models that improve effectiveness, efficiency, and quality of clinical services. This role involves exploring opportunities for innovation using new technologies such as genomics, robotics, and artificial intelligence.
Responsibilities include fostering workforce initiatives, overseeing clinical quality and patient safety programs across inpatient and outpatient settings, and providing leadership for the professional development of physicians. The CMO works to enhance physician engagement and shared decision-making, utilizing clinical analytics to monitor performance and collaborating with clinical program leaders to improve clinical outcomes.
The CMO serves as a member of the executive leadership team, representing the health system to the community and developing relationships with community and government officials to promote community health. The role also involves leading hospital-based CMOs and chiefs of staff, overseeing medical staff engagement, and setting professional standards.
Additional responsibilities include guiding the academic missions of education and research, supporting research growth and compliance, and developing innovative care models such as population health management and remote care services.
