Metropolitan State Hospital is located in the city of Norwalk.

The Department of State Hospitals, Metropolitan State Hospital is currently accepting applications for Clinical Social Worker (Heath/Correctional Facility) - Safety, Permanent/Fulltime . Working Title: Clinical Social Worker-Substance Abuse Coordinator

The Clinical Social Worker (CSW) - Substance Abuse Coordinator (SAC) oversees, evaluates, coordinates, develops, and provides group treatment interventions for patients with dual diagnosis and committed to the Department of State Hospital. The Substance Abuse Coordinator will maintain communication with the Program Directors, Chief of Social Work, and treatment teams regarding patient progress in group treatment and the effectiveness of the services. The Substance Abuse Coordinator will remain available to provide in-service related to substance abuse treatments and interventions and participate in Department of State Hospital programs and projects.

REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must possess completion of a Master's degree in Social Work program from an accredited school of social work and must be registered with California Board of Behavioral Science (BBS) as either ACSW or LCSW.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of 1 year work experience as a Clinical Social Worker in a mental health facility is highly desired.
