We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Permanent Superintendent to oversee our residential and commercial construction projects. As a Permanent Superintendent, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of construction projects, including coordinating workers, materials, and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. You will be the primary point of contact for all construction operations, ensuring that each project is completed to the highest standard.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of the construction project from planning to implementation.
  • Allocate resources for assigned projects.
  • Supervise onsite personnel and subcontractors.
  • Interface with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, and clients.
  • Negotiate with contractors to receive reasonable order costs.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to original plans and specifications.
  • Ensure all safety procedures are being adhered to and all regulations are met on site at all times.
  • Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
  • Coordinate and schedule workers, tools, and materials.
  • Process change orders, manage RFIs, submittals, and procure materials.
  • Continually review the contract documents and project schedule and work with the team to avoid potential problems or catch them before they become critical.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management, specifically in residential and commercial construction.
  • Proven track record of successfully overseeing and completing construction projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods.
  • Expert knowledge of building products, construction details, relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
  • Understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles.
  • Proficiency with construction management software.
  • Familiarity with regulatory construction standards.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a high-stress environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of safety and health guidelines for construction field environments.
  • Must hold certification in Construction Management or equivalent field.
