Ascension Search Partners has been engaged by a lower middle market SaaS company who are hiring a Controller. This role is ideal for someone looking to step into the Controller role in a remote first work environment. Candidate must have international accounting and SaaS knowledge, preferably with a public accounting background and CPA license. This well established company has been growing steadily and looking for a strong leadership team to help the company's continued global expansion.
Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly close and financial reporting
- Oversee core accounting functions (GL, AR/AP, payroll, consolidations)
- Improve controls, systems, and compliance
- Manage audits, tax, and regulatory filings
- Support forecasting, budgeting, and analysis
- Ensure accurate SaaS revenue recognition
- Partner with international teams on global reporting
Requirements:
- 5–8 years of accounting experience; public accounting and CPA preferred
- SaaS or tech background strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and multi-entity consolidations
- Global experience and time zone flexibility
- Proficient in Excel and ERP systems (Sage Intacct a plus)
- Detail-oriented, self-starter, and thrives in a fast-paced environment
