Excavator (Track Hoe) Operator - Shiprock, NM
Southland Holdings is seeking highly motivated Excavator Operators to join our construction team in Shiprock , NM & Surrounding area.This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a company with a strong legacy of delivering critical infrastructure projects across North America.
Responsibilities:
  • Operate an excavator (track hoe) to dig, trench, backfill, and move earth and materials according to project specifications.
  • Perform precision excavation around utilities, foundations, and other structures.
  • Load and unload materials efficiently while ensuring proper weight distribution.
  • Maneuver the excavator using hand and foot controls to complete tasks safely and accurately.
    • Coordinate machine movements with other activities, responding to hand or audio signals.
  • Identify and navigate around potential hazards or obstructions while following strict safety procedures.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience operating excavators (track hoes) and other heavy construction equipment such as dozers, backhoes, graders, and directional drill.
  • Background in heavy civil construction with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in challenging weather conditions (e.g., extreme heat, humidity, wind, or inclement weather) for extended periods.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to company policies.
  • Knowledge of equipment functions.
  • Good attitude, and a clean record.
  • Applicants must be hard-working, dependable and able to furnish references.
  • Field test required.
