Job Summary

The Finance Controller will oversee key aspects of the organization’s financial and accounting operations, including reporting, budgeting, and compliance. This role requires strong financial acumen with a solid understanding of accounting principles to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with organizational goals. Comfort working with global teams is critical, as this position collaborates across multiple time zones.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including reconciliations.
• Develop financial models for forecasting and budgeting.
• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, including department-level budgets.
• Monitor performance against budgets and provide variance analysis.
• Work closely with department heads to support financial planning and cost control initiatives.

Accounting Oversight

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll (in partnership with HR).
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Collaborate with external accountants or auditors to ensure accurate tax filings and compliance.

Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal financial regulations.
• Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate risks.
• Prepare documentation for audits and support audit processes.

Strategic Financial Support

• Provide insights and recommendations to leadership on financial strategy and investment opportunities.
• Manage cash flow to ensure the organization’s liquidity and operational needs are met.
• Support special projects related to mergers, acquisitions, or new business ventures.

Special Projects & Collaboration

• Partner with cross-functional teams to drive financial efficiency and profitability.
• Lead or participate in initiatives to streamline processes or implement financial systems.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.

Experience

• 4–6 years of experience in finance or accounting, with a preference for candidates with a mix of both.
• Solid understanding of US GAAP and experience with financial software applications (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP Arriba, Bill.com, inFlow).
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Familiarity with working in international environments, particularly with teams in India, is a plus.
