Game Designer (Mobile) Please note: this role requires on-site (hybrid) work from our Orlando studio. EA SPORTS is one of the leading sports entertainment brands in the world, with top-selling videogame franchises, award-winning interactive technology, fan programs, and cross-platform digital experiences. As a Game Designer, you will work directly on the mobile team responsible for writing and product owning feature designs for upcoming releases. Reporting to the Design Director, the Game Designer will be responsible for shepherding large features across all aspects of our games' live service elements; from Ultimate Team to full game modes. Responsibilities Oversee design vision and implementation, collaborating directly with designers, producers, programmers, artists, and other cross-functional members of game development teams. Lead the creation of features and programs to engage users and meet KPI goals. Develop the vision and lead a set of features or a large subsection of the game or of the live service. Work with PMs on qualitative and quantitative metrics to help support and guide feature direction. Use data insights, user research, and design intuition to design features that grow the live services of our games. Support the creative vision as set by the Creative Director and Product Managers. Mentor and educate content designers on upcoming features and their impact on content creation. Establish a deep knowledge of existing systems, oversee the entire suite of live service features, and support junior team members. Determine experience goals for designs and tune features to meet those goals. Be an active member of the development team, using inclusive collaborative frameworks to decide on goals and storytelling within releases. Be resourceful and solve problems using available tools and scope to create engaging experiences. Collaborate with artists, testers, economy, engineers, and producers from initial design to final production. Become an expert on the game and community, using insights to make informed design decisions. Improve processes to streamline the design team’s workflow. Lead by example and establish best practices. Qualifications At least 5 years of game design experience or equivalent knowledge. At least 2 years of experience in a live service game. Understanding of interconnected live service systems affecting the player experience. Strong creative, analytical, and organizational skills. Ability to maintain detailed design documentation. Understanding of UI/UX and system design. Ability to create wireframes and mockups for designs. Experience designing features targeting engagement, retention, or monetization. Technical proficiency in scripting or database languages. Collaborative, energetic, and motivated mindset. Ownership mentality with task prioritization skills. Ability to work autonomously and in diverse teams. Enthusiasm for gaming, especially sports games. Desirable Skills Shipped a AAA HD title. Knowledge or passion for football or basketball.
