As a Google Cloud Architect, you will play a key role in collaborating with engineering, development, and business teams to create innovative cloud-based solutions. We are looking for someone with deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), cloud infrastructure, and architecture best practices.
What We Are Looking For:
We are seeking an experienced Google Cloud Architect to design, implement, and manage cloud solutions on GCP. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge in GCP services, cloud application architecture, cloud infrastructure architecture, and cloud architecture best practices, and be able to work collaboratively with various teams to bring creative cloud solutions to life.
Key Responsibilities:
Cloud Architecture and Design:
- Design and implement scalable, reliable, and secure cloud solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Develop high-level and detailed technical designs for cloud infrastructure, networking, security, and data storage.
- Ensure cloud solutions are optimized for performance, cost, and security.
- Develop and enforce cloud architecture standards and best practices across the organization.
Modernization:
- Lead cloud architecture projects from start to finish for infrastructure and application level work streams.
- Assess existing systems and identify opportunities to modernize applications using cloud-native technologies.
- Design hybrid and multi-cloud solutions where needed.
Security and Compliance:
- Ensure cloud infrastructure and services comply with industry security and regulatory requirements.
- Implement identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and secure networking practices.
- Monitor and audit cloud environments for security vulnerabilities and risks.
Automation and Infrastructure as Code:
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using tools like Terraform, Cloud Deployment Manager, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) to improve scalability and consistency.
- Implement monitoring and logging solutions to ensure system health and performance.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with developers, DevOps, and product teams to integrate cloud services into applications.
- Provide technical guidance and training to internal teams on GCP architecture and best practices.
- Act as a subject matter expert for GCP technologies and solutions.
Performance and Cost Optimization:
- Monitor and analyze cloud resource usage and costs to identify opportunities for savings.
- Optimize cloud-based solutions for performance and scalability.
- Implement auto-scaling and load-balancing strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
- GCP Professional Cloud Architect certification required.
- 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture and infrastructure in the healthcare space, with at least 3+ years focused on GCP.
- Strong knowledge of GCP services, including Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, and IAM.
- Experience with cloud networking (VPCs, VPNs, Firewalls) and security (encryption, identity management).
- Hands-on experience with automation tools (Terraform, Cloud Deployment Manager, Ansible).
- Expertise in containerization and orchestration.
- Proficiency with scripting languages (Python, Bash) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of cloud cost management and optimization strategies.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
- Familiarity with cloud-based machine learning and big data solutions (e.g., Spark, TensorFlow, BigQuery).
- Experience with serverless computing and microservices architecture.
- Strong understanding of DevOps principles and practices.
