Health Solutions Actuarial Analyst and/or Consultant

Location: Irvine, CA; Los Angeles, CA; San Francisco, CA

Work Model: Hybrid

What your Day Will Look Like:

1. Conduct underwriting analysis based on clients’ plan history and risk changes to negotiate the best insurance rates;
2. Assist consultants with negotiating renewal ratings and preparing quarterly experience reviews and letters;
3. Perform market reviews and benchmarking to meet client needs;
4. Prepare financial exhibits and analyze quotations, including preparing specifications for seeking quotations;
5. Review group insurance contracts, agreements, and employee handbooks;
6. Peer review and validate work done by junior health and benefits analysts;
7. Assist in analytic projects such as risk pooling simulations and drug utilization reviews.

How This Role is Different:

As a Health Solutions Actuarial Analyst, you will support mid to large corporate accounts with analytics to assist Health Strategies Consultants in servicing clients and prospects.

Skills and Expertise That Will Lead to Success:

• 1-4 years of relevant experience, preferably in consulting or insurance, working in group underwriting and benefits;
• Strong technical skills across Microsoft Office, with advanced proficiency in Excel;
• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or related field;
• Completion of 3-5 SOA exams and working towards ASA designation.

Pay and Benefits:

Salary range: $70,000 - $100,000 annually, based on experience and location. Position eligible for annual bonuses and a broad benefits package, including 401(k), health insurance, paid time off, and more.
