Job Description

Development of college students who are pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in law. Intern will be exposed to a variety of projects and activities that will provide an opportunity to apply knowledge and skills learned in college and demonstrate abilities in the workplace. This is a temporary, nonexempt position.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of senior staff, drafts, interprets and provides analysis related to various legal documents, which may include property acquisitions, construction contracts, compliance reports, audits, rate case testimony and other contracts related to the operation of a major interstate pipeline system; reviews legislative and regulatory activity and performs legal research as directed; supports assigned client group by interpreting regulatory and judicial orders, legislative changes, and regulatory rules and policies; and performs additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.

Qualifications

Pursuing a Bachelor's degree with an interest in a legal career, or a J.D. student currently enrolled in an accredited law school or university, with a preference for candidates in the top 20% of their class.

Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to convey complex concepts succinctly and clearly

Strong reasoning and analytical abilities

Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to independently conduct research in unfamiliar areas of law and business

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
