Lead Web Designer

We are seeking a Lead Web Designer to take ownership of C3 AI's web design systems, component libraries, and overall digital design direction. Reporting to the Creative Director, this role leads the creation of scalable, modern, and visually compelling web experiences that communicate the C3 AI brand at an enterprise level.

The Lead Web Designer will drive the evolution of our design system, partner closely with developers to ensure pixel-perfect translation, and mentor designers to elevate design craft across the marketing organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, refinement, and governance of scalable design systems and Figma component libraries across the C3 AI web ecosystem.
• Define design standards, guidelines, and best practices to ensure brand consistency and technical accuracy.
• Collaborate with developers to ensure high-fidelity execution, providing detailed specs, documentation, and QA support.
• Create responsive wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes that balance visual impact with usability.
• Establish scalable workflows and reusable UI patterns that accelerate design-to-development efficiency.
• Apply expert typographic, layout, and composition skills to create clear hierarchy and elevate C3 AI's type-led brand identity.
• Partner with marketing, product, and content leaders to translate strategic initiatives into engaging digital experiences.
• Mentor junior and mid-level designers, elevating design quality and craft across the team.
• Champion accessibility, performance, and responsive design standards across all deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years of professional experience in web/digital design, preferably in an agency or enterprise SaaS environment.
• Expert-level proficiency in Figma , including components, variants, auto-layout, and large-scale design system management.
• Strong portfolio showcasing advanced responsive web design, system thinking, and component-driven UI.
• Deep understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, frameworks) to collaborate effectively with developers.
• Proven ability to lead design initiatives, set standards, and deliver scalable systems.
• Experience mentoring or leading other designers.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Bonus: Motion design, interaction design, or prototyping (Lottie, After Effects, Framer, etc.).

California Base Pay Range

$125,000$190,000 USD
