About Position Role: Okta Architect Location: Oakland, CA Experience: 12+ years Job Type: Full Time & Contract Mandatory Skills: IAM, Okta, Migration Experience, SSO, SAML We are seeking an experienced Okta Architect as the role focuses on leading identity and access management (IAM) transitions, specifically migrating from Okta to a new Identity Provider (IDP), consolidating applications, managing data migrations, and overseeing decommissioning of legacy systems. The candidate will ensure successful migrations through robust validation practices. Expertise You'll Bring 12+ Years related experience in IAM domain. Comprehensive understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM) principles and best practices. Deep proficiency in Okta's Identity Engine platform (features, functionality, integration). Strong expertise in IDP protocols: SSO, SAML, OIDC, JIT, SCIM (understanding appropriate use cases). Ability to interpret technical specifications and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a closely related field. Relevant certifications such as Okta Certified Administrator or Okta Certified Consultant are required. Exceptional problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues effectively. Strong attention to detail in requirements gathering and solution validation. Excellent interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder interaction across all levels. Proven ability to create clear, concise documentation and reports. What You’ll Do Lead the transition of applications/services from Okta to a new IDP. Manage the consolidation of applications/services between services, including data migration from applications. Oversee the decommissioning of applications/services replaced by client specific solutions. Establish and execute validation principles to ensure successful migrations.
