Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Polysomnographer / Sleep Tech to join the Sleep Lab team for a 13-week night shift contract. The ideal candidate will have experience working with both pediatric and adult populations and be comfortable using advanced diagnostic equipment. This is a fast-paced, patient-centered environment where accuracy and professionalism are essential.
Perform and monitor a full range of sleep studies including Baseline PSG, MSLT, Seizure Studies, and Home Sleep Tests
Provide mask fittings (nasal, nasal pillow, and full face) and ensure patient comfort
Monitor patients during sleep studies for respiratory, cardiac, and neurological events
Stage and score studies, identifying Cheyne-Stokes, Complex Sleep Apnea, Hypopnea, and other abnormalities
Educate patients and caregivers on procedures and sleep health
Ensure infection control protocols are followed
Document thoroughly using EPIC EHR system
Float between similar units as needed
Work every other weekend per facility policy
Must be able to work independently with a 1:2 patient ratio for adults, 1:1 for pediatrics
Experience with both pediatric and adult sleep studies
Proficient with Alice 6 G3 and ResMed CPAP equipment
Must be able to interpret EEG, ECG, RIP, End-Tidal CO2, and O2 Saturation
Open to working non-block schedule (block per manager discretion)
Education:
Associate's degree in Polysomnographic Technology or related field preferred
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of experience in sleep studies (adult and pediatric)
First-time travelers accepted
License:
RPSGT or RRT w/SDS certification required
California State Sleep License required (pending not accepted)
BLS required
Skills:
Strong understanding of staging and scoring sleep studies
Expertise in titration methods: CPAP, BiPAP, VPAP, ASV, and oxygen therapy
Familiarity with infection control and patient education practices
Preferred experience in hospital and independent lab settings
