Qualifications

  • Active, unencumbered RN license in the state of practice
  • Compact licenses must be transferred to your state of residence within 90 days
  • Current CPR certification (Aveanna can assist with this post-hire if needed)
  • TB skin test (current within the last 12 months)
  • Six months of hands-on nursing experience preferred but not required
  • Reliable transportation is a must

Position Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing and documenting skilled nursing care in accordance with the developed care plan and physician's orders, while adhering to confidentiality standards and professional boundaries.

Essential Job Functions

  • Deliver and coordinate quality patient care in compliance with physician orders.
  • Continuously observe and assess patient conditions, reporting changes as necessary.
  • Document all activities, assessments, and nursing actions in a timely manner.
  • Develop, implement, and update nursing care plans.
  • Recognize changes in patient needs and implement appropriate interventions.
  • Comply with Aveanna policies, state and federal regulations, and the Nurse Practice Act.
  • Educate patients and families on disease processes and self-care techniques.
  • Maintain knowledge of nursing competencies through ongoing education and training.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate School of Nursing
  • Current, unrestricted state license as a Registered Nurse
  • Current CPR certification
  • Proficiency in clinical assessments and compliance with nursing policies

Additional State-Specific Requirements

  • South Carolina: One (1) year of pediatric experience
  • California: One (1) year of experience under current nursing license
  • Louisiana: One (1) year of experience as a licensed nurse
  • Continuing Education as required by state

Preferences

  • Six (6) months of recent experience as a Licensed Nurse in a clinical care setting
  • Home health experience

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to speak, write, read, and understand English
  • Must be able to travel and lift up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to respond physically and mentally to emergency situations

Environment

Must be able to function in a variety of environments, which may involve exposure to allergens and other conditions, including blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases.
