Job Title: Professor or Associate Professor, 9 Month Salaried - Economics

Department

Responsibilities

• Contribute to research and scholarship through high quality publications in top-tier venues.
• Teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels and service responsibilities. Standard teaching responsibilities consist of a 2/2 course load, with a standard three-course reduction for new hires.
• Expected to engage in The Florida Institute for Governance and Civics programming.
• Standard service responsibilities commensurate with rank.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Economics before the date of hire is expected.
• Evidence of the potential to produce internationally recognized research or have a strong track record of scholarship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Research that focuses on how economic, political, and legal institutions have influenced economic development, and whose work speaks to economic liberty and the political economy of a free society.
• Experience with public-facing civic/economic initiatives.
• Clear record of research activity equivalent to an associate professor or full professor (depending on rank being sought) at an R1 research university.
• Established record of successful teaching at the university level, commensurate with the rank being sought, and a demonstrated ability to teach and participate in the Departments undergraduate, masters, and doctoral programs.
