Degree in Physical Therapy, active Physical Therapist license and 1+ year of Physical Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A skilled physical therapist is needed to provide educationally focused physical therapy services within a K-12 school setting located in Auburn, NY. This contract role involves working primarily with Kindergarten through 2nd-grade students, delivering individualized therapy sessions that support the students educational goals and physical development.

This position follows a full-time schedule of 7.25 hours per day, totaling 36.5 hours per week. The contract duration extends through the current school year, starting as soon as possible and concluding on or around April 21-22. Please note, the role is not available to physical therapy assistants; only licensed physical therapists are eligible. In addition, candidates must have cleared fingerprinting through NYSED to comply with state education requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver educationally driven physical therapy interventions to students primarily in grades K-2
• Plan and implement therapy sessions that align with individual education plans (IEPs)
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to integrate therapy goals within the classroom environment
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes in accordance with school district policies
• Participate in team meetings and assist with ongoing student evaluations

Preferred work arrangement is in-person to ensure effective, hands-on therapy delivery. Virtual therapy options are not currently favored due to the need for in-person assistance; employing temporary aides to support students during therapy sessions would add complexity and expense.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Licensed Physical Therapist in New York State (providing services, not a Physical Therapist Assistant)
• NYSED fingerprint clearance
• Experience working with young school-aged children (K-2)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in an educational setting

Location: Auburn, NY (K-12 School Setting)
Schedule: Full-time, 7.25 hours/day, 36.5 hours/week
Contract Dates: ASAP start, through approximately April 21-22
Exclusions: No work during Winter Break (Presidents Day week) and Spring Break (beginning March 30)
