Degree in Physical Therapy, active Physical Therapist license and 1+ year of Physical Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A physical therapist is needed to provide educationally focused physical therapy services to students primarily in grades K-2 at a K-12 school located in Syracuse, NY. This is a full-time contract position for the current school year (CSY), with a schedule of 7.25 hours per day, totaling 36.5 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver educationally oriented physical therapy sessions tailored to young students developmental and educational needs.
  • Collaborate with school staff to support each students individualized therapy goals.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of therapy sessions and student progress.
  • Comply with all school district policies and state educational requirements regarding therapy services.
  • Coordinate care plans with teachers, parents, and other related service providers as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Licensed Physical Therapist (PT); Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) are not eligible.
  • Valid fingerprint clearance through the New York State Education Department (NYSEd) is mandatory.
  • Experience working with early childhood populations (K-2) in educational settings preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to work primarily in-person; virtual sessions may require additional support and are not preferred.
  • Available to start as soon as possible and continue through April 21 or 22.
  • Will observe school holidays including Winter Break (week beginning Presidents Day) and Spring Break (week beginning March 30).
