As a Scientific Advisor, you will play a vital role as a scientific and technical advisor to ARPA-H Program Managers by offering invaluable support and thought leadership in in at least one area to include biomedical engineering, cell/tissue regeneration, bioinformation, nanotechnology, neuroscience, AI, and biomaterials.

Responsibilities

As a Scientific Advisor-Biomedical Technologies, you will assist and advise ARPA-H Program Managers on any and all technical, programmatic, and administrative tasks that further their research and development programs. Specific duties may include:
  • Proactively track and analyze emerging research trends within the aforementioned areas, evaluating their potential impact on ARPA-H programs and projects.
  • Translate complex scientific findings into actionable guidance for program managers and research teams, facilitating their work in propelling ARPA-H initiatives forward.
  • Identify and champion nascent methodologies and technologies with the potential to revolutionize ARPA-H programs, fostering a culture of innovation.
  • Contribute scientific expertise to dialogues and presentations, enriching collective understanding of complex scientific challenges within ARPA-H.
  • Forge effective collaboration within diverse ARPA-H teams, fostering a shared understanding of scientific opportunities and program goals.
  • Convey complex scientific concepts clearly and succinctly to both technical and lay audiences.
  • Actively engage in brainstorming sessions and problem-solving exercises to accelerate the success of ARPA-H initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Minimum Education and Experience
  • PhD in Systems Biology, Computational Biology, Biomedical engineering, or related biomedical fields
  • 7 years of related experience, including at least 4 years of research and development experience
Basic Requirements
  • Proven ability to integrate complex biological and clinical data with advanced computational techniques
  • Extensive experience developing and validating models at the molecular to physiological levels for complex biological systems
  • Proven proficiency in understanding in technical areas such as biomedical engineering, cell/tissue regeneration, bioinformation, nanotechnology, AI, and biomaterials
  • Evidence of conducting autonomous research, proficient data analysis, and articulate scientific report writing
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and time management skills; demonstrated capacity for detailed organization and synthesis of abstract and disparate information
  • Highly efficient and extremely detail oriented
  • Ability to prioritize among multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to work independently and know when to seek assistance
  • Published, peer-reviewed articles in field of STEM expertise
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship, as Ripple Effect is currently not set up to sponsor in any capacity.
