As a Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in access control at a government location, helping to create a secure environment for all who enter. Your responsibilities will include monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, and conducting routine patrols throughout the assigned area. By maintaining a visible presence, you help to deter security-related incidents and provide reassurance to staff and visitors. You will also deliver exceptional customer service, responding to inquiries and assisting individuals as needed. Pay Rate: $18.50 / Hour

What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Monitor and control access to the location, verifying credentials and authorizations for entry and exit.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the premises and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Document and report any security-related incidents, observations, or irregularities according to site procedures.
  • Communicate professionally with visitors, employees, and/or contractors while maintaining a visible presence at access points.
  • Support Allied Universal and client management by following all post orders and contributing to a secure environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A Guard Card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
