Lead Piping Designer (Steam Piping) - Onsite - Glenshaw, PA

*Must be a local candidate - No Relocation*

Pay: $40.86-$48.08 per hour

Scope

• Works to specifications and written and verbal instructions in accordance with established design practice, codes, standards, and procedures to prepare piping designs.
• Leads piping design effort.
• ​Provides technical guidance and is responsible for neatness and accuracy of own work.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of piping design experience
• Experience leading piping designers
• Demonstrated experience as Piping Designer Leader
• AutoCAD 2D proficient , AutoCAD Plant3D or other 3D platform experience beneficial
• Ability to read and understand P&ID's
• Process and utility piping in an industrial environment
• Experienced in piping design for steel mill piping including melt shops and continuous casters
• Familiar with Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) piping design
• Familiar with isometric drawings and bills of material
• Able to conduct field investigations to verify pipe routings
• Experience with direct contact with client

Responsibilities

• Initiates engineering drawings for a complex area of the project in conformance with the project requirements with little supervision
• Prepares complete piping -designs including -plans, sections, details, bills of material
• Reviews drawings supplied by vendors, clients and other disciplines that affect the piping design
• Conducts field investigation to obtain information to route and support piping
• Oversees the piping design effort on assigned project
• Responsible for maintaining project schedules and budgets for the piping design
