Senior Warehouse Manager

Greater Rockford Area, IL (Onsite)

A leading player in the manufacturing and distribution space is looking for a Senior Warehouse Manager to lead operations at a high-performing site in Northern Illinois. This is a high-impact role for a hands-on leader with a passion for team development, process improvement, and operational excellence.

This person will be the go-to leader for a high-volume, strategic distribution center that is essential to national operations. With strong executive visibility, this role offers the chance to take ownership of shipping and distribution performance, champion lean processes, and help launch new warehouse capabilities—all in a facility with cutting-edge automation and a track record of success.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive a culture of safety and compliance, ensuring adherence to all regulatory and company standards.
• Oversee all aspects of warehouse and distribution operations, from inventory planning to order fulfillment and shipping.
• Partner cross-functionally with supply chain, sales, logistics, and customer service to deliver seamless service.
• Lead staffing, training, and development for a team including supervisors, shipping clerks, and warehouse associates.
• Leverage lean tools and continuous improvement strategies to streamline processes and maximize efficiency.
• Analyze and act on job safety observation (JSO) trends to improve site safety metrics.
• Play a critical role in major projects such as warehouse launches and regional consolidations.
• Serve as a change agent, fostering collaboration and driving standardized practices across warehouse locations.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
• 8+ years of warehouse or distribution leadership experience in a high-volume environment.
• Proven background in strategic operations, people management, and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with automated warehouse systems and common industry shipping practices.
• Hands-on experience with SAP and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong time management, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• This is a primarily on-site position within a dynamic warehouse setting.
• Must be able to occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Exposure to variable temperatures and proximity to mechanical equipment is expected.
