Do you have OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) and Linux administration skills or are you interested in honing or acquiring them? We're looking for someone who has experience in OCP/Linux administration and is interested in learning and growing in a positive and supportive work environment. Working with your new team, you'll have the opportunity to engage in a wide variety of innovative problem-solving activities to provide server deployments and engineering support to the organization. Your work directly impacts the success of the Franchise Tax Board's (FTB) mission and helps Californians meet their tax obligations, which in turn funds the majority of programs that support all Californians.

In your role:

  • You install and maintain the OpenShift Container Platform and Linux Servers along with Operational Support
  • You provide OpenShift Container Platform and Linux server maintenance for upgrades, customer enhancements, security tuning, law changes, and server patches
  • You Support Azure cloud expansions for linux and OpenShift servers/services.
  • You provide support for network systems and server hardware and software support activities, including server configurations, installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting, assigning workload with the team, as well as being a resource for technology projects
  • You tune for performance and troubleshoot OpenShift Container and Linux systems
  • You provide support for the planning, acquisition, and research and evaluation of new technologies for use within the current and or future operational programs
  • You provide services which encompass the IT domain of System Engineering
  • You may also have an opportunity to act as a project lead and participate in a variety of projects
  • You collaborate with staff of all levels and technical abilities from within the FTB's technology organization, along with business customers to provide technical guidance and project support with a focus on excellent customer service

Working Conditions

This position is eligible for limited remote working within California based on departmental guidelines and operational need. FTB has a minimum in-office requirement of two days per week for all positions including those that are eligible for telework. This is subject to change.
