We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated, and proactive government investigations lawyer to manage responses to federal and state regulatory inquiries, manage risks, lead cross-functional complex projects, and provide counsel on a range of enforcement issues. Regulatory enforcement priorities are evolving rapidly, and this lawyer needs to be capable of identifying emerging and actual risks and advising the business to ensure compliance while supporting business objectives. This lawyer will help lead critical projects related to responding to government investigations, working collaboratively with the business. Our new team member must have a demonstrated ability to work independently when needed, as well as a proven track record of effective team collaboration. The ideal candidate is an excellent writer, who can communicate effectively with both business leaders and government regulators. A successful candidate will be ready to jump into action, working closely with business partners to provide practical, strategic legal guidance and design and implement creative solutions to complex challenges.

What youll do in your role.

  • Provide strategic legal and business advice on how best to manage regulatory risk.
  • Lead the Companys response to state and federal regulatory investigations, as well any resulting litigation.
  • Conduct legal research and writing; draft filings for submission to the FCC, FTC, CFPB, DOJ, state attorney generals offices, and other federal and state agencies; prepare briefings and provide policy recommendations to internal business clients.
  • Support projects in a wide range of subject matter areas, with particular emphasis on government investigations and enforcement in areas related to consumer protection, government subsidy programs, network operations, public safety, cybersecurity, and privacy.
  • Manage teams supporting the companys compliance with consent decrees and other commitments with the government.
  • Skillfully and effectively manage outside counsel and related spend in a cost-conscious and budget-friendly manner.

  • JD with at least 7 years of experience in relevant practice areas.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence decision-makers and promote sound and practical solutions.
  • Experience dealing with and/or working with federal and/or state agencies, particularly the FCC, FTC, CFPB, DOJ, and state attorney generals offices.
  • Appetite for innovation and aptitude for creative problem-solving.
  • Detail orientation with a drive to get accurate and complete information to support informed decision-making.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong people management skills, with ability to work cooperatively and effectively on teams.
  • Keen strategic, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Motivation and experience multi-tasking in a dynamic environment.
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
