Overview

Position Purpose
  • To position IQVIA Medical Affairs as the go to Medical Affairs partner by helping to define a differentiated, innovative and agile point of view.
  • Challenges clients to recognize and embrace innovative solutions that leverage the state-of-the-art methodologies, technologies, and data-driven services that IQVIA offers.
  • Serves as a leader within IQVIA as a Medical Affairs Expert (subject matter expert) by orchestrating the integrated thinking of cross-functional experts, peers, and junior team members to shape and operationalize complex solutions.
  • Enable the sales and delivery of Medical Affairs solutions in partnership with go-to-market teams and business units.

Responsibilities

  • Become a strategic partner to Medical Affairs clients.
  • Function as the primary consultant and participant in Medical Affairs client initiatives including early engagement discussions, development of proposals for new opportunities, and facilitating ongoing client discussions.
  • As a Medical Affairs expert, champion an integrated view of the breadth and depth of Medical Affairs, ensuring client engagements maximize the full suite of Medical Affairs solutions as appropriate and best fit-for-purpose.
  • Take ownership over developing client-centric solutions, designing both strategic and methodological approaches to ensure that IQVIA is a partner of choice for client projects.
  • Lead proposal development to deliver actionable, targeted, and timely solutions.
  • Has ultimate responsibility for project strategy, methodology, and design, and ensure the project is set up to deliver high quality results. Provides close consultation with medical strategy/excellence team and other real world solution and commercial consultants.
  • Cross-functionally align with IQVIA leadership to develop and promote integrated solutions.
  • Contribute to the enhanced awareness of IQVIA in the marketplace as a Medical Affairs thought leader by developing and executing thought leadership including speaking engagements, client meetings, publications, etc.
  • Continuously learn and network to gain knowledge about industry trends, innovations in drug development, product lifecycle management, and advances in RWE and technology.
  • Proactively seek knowledge and understanding of fundamental business processes, their interaction and the impact of external/internal influences on decision making and growth, particularly as it applies to Medical Affairs in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Contribute to team building including interviewing, mentoring and training juniors and activities to motivate and retain staff as well as sharing subject matter expertise with others to elevate our capabilities to deliver world class solutions for clients.
  • Managing complex relationships and juggling priorities is necessary.

     

Experience, & Specialized Knowledge Required

  • Bachelor’s degree, advanced degree highly preferred, with at least 10 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical or consulting industry.
  • Experience in Medical Affairs at a pharmaceutical company highly preferred. Preference for experience in the office setting, with additional experience in the field a plus.
  • Experience across a range of clinical and commercial domains in a variety of therapeutic areas, with strong scientific and analytic acumen.
  • Strong client engagement, strategic thinking and consultative skill set.
  • A history of thought leadership, publications, and public speaking.
  • Consultative mindset with enthusiasm for delivering first-in-class solutions to clients; demonstrated strategic thinking, planning and change management skills.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills including presentations, chairing meetings, workshop facilitation, proposal and report writing.
  • Knowledge of consulting methodologies, tools, and techniques is desirable.
  • The ability to quickly gain credibility with senior management and effectively influence and collaborate with others.
  • Leadership experience in complex organizations with demonstrated results in aligning people without formal reporting relationships.
  • Demonstrated willingness to take initiative and actively contribute to hands-on tasks to ensure successful outcomes.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $137,200.00 - $382,200.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
