Overview

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Structural Steel General Manager to lead our structural steel operations. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in construction management, project execution, and business leadership. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of structural steel projectsfrom estimating through completionwhile driving operational efficiency and ensuring top-tier performance, safety, and quality.

Base pay range

$135,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr

Full-time | $135,000 - $200,000+ per year + Bonus

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the structural steel division, including fabrication, erection, procurement, and field operations.
• Lead and support project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in line with contract requirements.
• Drive estimating, bidding, and business development activities to grow market presence and secure new work.
• Manage contract administration, change order negotiations, and risk mitigation for multiple ongoing projects.
• Foster strong relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Ensure strict compliance with all safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
• Oversee division budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking using KPIs.
• Champion continuous improvement in workflows, team development, and overall performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in structural steel, heavy civil, or large-scale construction projects.
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects from inception to completion.
• Strong technical knowledge of structural steel fabrication and erection.
• Exceptional leadership, team management, and communication skills.
• Proficient in budget, schedule, and contract management.
• Professional certifications such as P.E., PMP, or similar (a plus).
