What You’ll Do

As a Structural Welder at Ben’s Structural Fabrication, you will be responsible for:

1. Reviewing and interpreting shop drawings to determine weld requirements
2. Performing surface preparation prior to and after welding (sanding, grinding, wire brushing, degreasing, etc.)
3. Setting up and operating welding equipment
4. Performing GMAW-pulse (MIG) welding in flat and horizontal positions on mild steel components
5. Fitting steel parts and tacking/welding components onto beams, columns, trusses, and other structural elements
6. Using an overhead crane safely and frequently
7. Lifting 50–100 pounds regularly
8. Working collaboratively in a fast-paced shop environment

Schedule

1. No weekends!
2. Monday–Thursday, 6:00am–4:15pm
3. Occasional overtime available on Fridays, 6:00am–3:00pm
4. All work is performed in our Waite Park shop—no jobsite welding required.

Pay Transparency Statement

In accordance with pay transparency guidelines, the anticipated pay range for this position is $24.00 to $28.00 per hour. This range is an estimate and not a guarantee. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and role requirements. Eligible employees may also participate in company benefit programs, subject to plan terms and employment status.

1. Proven MIG welding skills; MIG-pulse experience preferred
2. Ability to pass a Horizontal (2G) weld qualification test
3. Ability to read prints with dimensions, weld symbols, and weld specifications
4. Detail-oriented with strong quality-inspection skills
5. Reliable, self-motivated, and team-oriented with strong communication skills
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
7. A natural “feel-for-steel” and passion for high-quality craftsmanship
8. High school diploma or equivalent required
