Camp Solomon Schechter seeks a caring, professional, flexible Camp Nurse for Summer 2025. 

This position will report to the Summer Camp Director and will ensure the health, welfare, and safety of all the campers and staff on property.

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Summer Camp Nurse

Responsibilities:

· Promote a healthy and safe living environment for the camp community throughout the season;

· Provide quality care and service to our entire camp community;

· Establish and operate a well-organized camp health center and coordinate coverage of health center to ensure 24/7 care;

· Triage all camper/staff visits to the Health Center;

· Administer healthcare to campers and staff consistent with protocols developed by the CSS Medical Committee and/or the camper’s physician;

· Administer medicine and supplements;

· Liaise with visiting doctors and other medical professionals outside of camp;

· Clearly document (in camp health software) all medications/supplements, visits to the health center, injuries, illnesses, etc.;

· Communicate effectively and promptly with a diverse audience: campers, parents/guardians, staff, medical colleagues, leadership team, and support staff per camp guidelines;

· Refer campers and staff to medical treatment outside of camp per camp guidelines and protocols; and

· Supervise Health Center Coordinator.

Required Qualifications:

· Active/Current Registered Nurse’s License (RN) for Washington State, required.  Other licensed training will be considered, such as licensed nurse practitioner (ARNP) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

· Skills to communicate effectively and promptly with a diverse audience.

· Current certifications in first aid, CPR, and AED.

· Hands-on skills and experience with maintaining accurate records electronically and keeping an orderly workspace.

· 3+ years of school and/or pediatric/adolescent medical experience strongly preferred.

· Familiarity with school or camp database systems.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Ability to lift and move items 30lbs or heavier.

Compensation:

This position is exempt, temporary, and full-time for the summer ($900-$1,500 per week; DOE and licensing) and/or work for trade camp for your children as part of a compensation package. Room and board included. Summer camp runs from 6/19/2025 – 8/14/2025.
