Tax Accountant I Location Boise, ID (Harrison Blvd area) :

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join Boise Cascade as a Tax Accountant. This role will be responsible for supporting the property tax function within our corporate tax department. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent organizational skills, and a willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and filing of property tax renditions.
• Analysis of property tax assessments and valuations.
• Review property tax bills for accuracy and prepare payment requests.
• Assist with various property tax projects related to tax planning, assessment and appeals, audit representation and resolution, tax exemptions and abatements, and credits and incentives.
• Maintain organized records of property tax assessments, payments, and related documentation.
• Assist in compliance with state and local property tax laws.
• Communicate with local tax authorities and assessors to address inquiries and resolve issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information for property tax reporting.
• Use the Company's software applications to extract, organize, and import data.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements within the property tax function.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required. Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred, or 2-5 years of equivalent experience.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to provide prompt and reliable attention to requests.
• Able to handle multiple priorities, tasks, and simultaneous projects.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Internship, coursework, or work experience related to property tax is a plus.
• Familiarity with property tax software (PTMS) or systems preferred.
