Job Details

Travel First Assist CVOR CST position at Lutheran Hospital
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Days, 6:30a-5p, 4x10hr, holidays and call required, option for block scheduling
Average of 85 surgeries a month
Scope of role: acting as the primary surgical assistant during cardiovascular surgery, assisting with tissue handling, exposure, hemostasis, and closure of the incision, while maintaining a sterile field.

Job Requirements

Required certifications: BLS, First Assist certification, CST certification (if required by Indiana State law), RN license, or Certified Surgical Assistant
2 years of experience required
Must be able to suture as directed by the surgeons
Strong cardiac skills required

Schedule Information

RTO blackout dates: 3/31/25-4/10/25
Max RTO: 1 week

Floating: could float to Main OR
Dept: hospital issued scrubs
EMR: Cerner

Additional Details

Reason for opening: special, internal vacancy, leave coverage
Travelers must be greater than 50 miles from facility – local candidates not accepted!
