· Pay Rate: Rate may vary due to local or non-local contracted rates: $70-75 combined Rate of pay. ( Pay packages are a combination of taxable hourly rates, tax free allowances for travel, housing, and meal allowances)

RTO at time of submission IL license in hand ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Pt. types: Cardiac Open-Heart Surgeries, Medical ICU and Surgical ICU patients.
CVICU Nurse – General Job Description Position Summary:
The CVICU nurse provides direct and specialized nursing care to patients recovering from cardiovascular surgeries such as open-heart surgery, heart transplants, valve replacements, and other complex cardiac procedures. This role requires advanced knowledge of cardiovascular care, critical care protocols, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
Monitor and manage critically ill patients with complex cardiovascular conditions.
Administer medications, including vasopressors, antiarrhythmics, and sedation, per protocol.
Operate and monitor advanced life support devices (e.g., ventilators, intra-aortic balloon pumps, ECMO).
Interpret EKGs, lab results, and hemodynamic data to assess patient status.
Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team, including physicians, perfusionists, respiratory therapists, and pharmacists.
Educate patients and their families about procedures, care plans, and recovery expectations.
Document patient information accurately and timely in electronic medical records.
Respond promptly to emergencies (e.g., codes, rapid deterioration) with skilled interventions.
Registered Nurse (RN) license, active and in good standing.
BSN preferred (or ASN with experience and a plan to complete BSN).
BLS, ACLS certification required; CCRN or CSC preferred.
1–2+ years of ICU experience, preferably in cardiac or surgical ICU.
Excellent critical thinking, time management, and communication skills.
Fast-paced, high-acuity critical care unit.
Requires standing, lifting, and responding to emergencies quickly.
Shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
