Job Title: Airplane Pilot (T32) - National Guard This position is a Title 32, excepted service role within the Alabama Air National Guard, assigned to the 117th Air Refueling Wing. The position involves piloting advanced, single or multi-engine military aircraft, including high-performance fighter aircraft, on tactical and non-tactical missions using precision instrument techniques and navigational aids. Key Responsibilities: Fly military aircraft within specified flight parameters, maintaining thorough knowledge of aircraft systems and emergency procedures. Prepare for flights by reviewing weather, planning routes, and ensuring aircraft readiness, including briefings and obtaining clearances. Operate aircraft safely, adhering to manuals and coordinating with ground units, while monitoring flight performance and executing corrective actions as needed. Complete post-flight documentation, coordinate maintenance, and conduct post-flight checks. Serve as the Air Commander's representative during flight operations, with authority to cancel or divert flights and manage mission requirements. Participate in administrative tasks across various Air Operations support areas such as training, planning, and safety programs, ensuring compliance with all safety and operational standards. Requirements: Must be a member of the Alabama Air National Guard, with eligibility for immediate membership if not already a member. Required to wear military uniform and participate in mandatory direct deposit payments. Occasional non-standard working hours and overtime may be required. Must meet medical standards similar to USAF pilots and have graduated from USAF or USN Undergraduate Flying Training. Qualifications: Military Rank: Minimum 2LT, maximum Lt Col. Experience: At least two years in civilian or military aviation programs, with experience in piloting and instructing in main-frame military aircraft, mission planning, aircraft operations, safety, and compliance with aviation directives.
