Director of Data Governance

Location: Florida (Hybrid – 2 days/week on-site)

Salary: $120,000–$160,000

The Role

As Director of Data Governance, you’ll be the strategic lead shaping how data is managed, protected, and utilized across the organization. You’ll work across departments to embed governance practices into day-to-day operations while ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement a company-wide data governance framework that supports business objectives and regulatory compliance
• Own and enhance Microsoft Purview to manage metadata, data cataloging, lineage, and classification
• Define data standards, ownership structures, and policies in close partnership with stakeholders across the business
• Collaborate with IT, Security, Risk, and Compliance teams to ensure alignment with frameworks such as GDPR and Solvency II
• Promote a culture of data literacy and accountability through training, documentation, and internal advocacy
• Track and analyze data quality KPIs, leading efforts to identify and resolve issues at the source

Your Background:

• Significant experience in data governance or data management, ideally within insurance or other regulated industries
• Practical knowledge of Microsoft Purview is a must
• Strong understanding of data privacy laws, compliance frameworks, and governance best practices
• Confident communicator who can engage with both technical teams and senior leadership
• Familiarity with SQL, Collibra, and Informatica is a plus
