Position Overview We seek a
strategic and experienced Senior EDI Analyst(or EDI Manager) with
5+ years of hands-on EDI experience to drive and optimize our
Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) operations . This role will
lead the management, enhancement, and expansion of EDI processes on an
OpenText EDI platform running on IBM i , with a
Windows-based mapping platform .
The ideal candidate will have EDI integration end-to-end, ensuring seamless data exchange with trading partners while identifying
new automation opportunities to improve
supply chain efficiency and operations . This position requires strong
leadership, problem-solving skills, and EDI strategy and process improvement expertise .
Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or Green Card holders. Sponsorship or H-1B transfers are NOT available for this role. This is an onsite role at our Henderson, NC Data Center. A transition to hybrid after training for those living nearby will be considered. Key Responsibilities EDI Operations & Strategy - Own and manage the OpenText EDI platform on IBM i, ensuring seamless daily operations .
- Develop and implement EDI roadmaps to optimize processes and onboard new transaction sets to enhance supply chain efficiency.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex EDI transaction issues to ensure accurate and timely data flow.
- Maintain and enhance communication protocols (AS2, FTP, SFTP, VAN) for EDI connectivity.
Mapping & Process Optimization - Lead the development of new EDI maps, modifications, and transformations to align with business needs.
- Translate business requirements into scalable EDI mapping solutions for X12, EDIFACT, and proprietary formats .
- Evaluate and implement automation to reduce manual intervention and increase EDI processing efficiency.
Trading Partner & Vendor Management - Act as the primary EDI liaison for trading partners, overseeing onboarding, setup, configuration, testing, and support .
- Negotiate and manage EDI vendor relationships to enhance system capabilities and reduce costs .
- Establish best practices and SLAs to ensure optimal EDI performance.
Process Improvement & Leadership - Lead cross-functional initiatives integrating EDI with supply chain, finance, and logistics systems .
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior EDI specialists, ensuring knowledge-sharing and team development.
- Identify and implement process automation opportunities to improve EDI efficiency and accuracy.
Financial & Compliance Oversight - Ensure compliance with industry regulations and data security best practices for EDI transactions.
- Collaborate with Finance to ensure accurate reconciliation of EDI-driven transactions .
- Oversee inventory audit tracking , ensuring that transactions impact inventory and financial reporting correctly.
Qualifications Required Skills & Experience - 5+ years of hands-on EDI experience managing integrations, troubleshooting, and mapping.
- Deep understanding of EDI standards (X12, EDIFACT) and mapping tools on a Windows-based platform.
- Experience managing OpenText EDI on IBM i or a comparable enterprise-level EDI platform.
- Strong knowledge of communication protocols (AS2, FTP, SFTP, VAN) for trading partner integration.
- Proven ability to optimize and automate EDI workflows to improve supply chain efficiency.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work cross-functionally .
Preferred Skills - Experience leading EDI projects or serving in a team leadership role .
- General command knowledge of IBM i systems and experience working with SQL or querying tools for data analysis .
- Familiarity with XML, JSON, API-based data exchanges to support emerging integration trends.
- Strong vendor management, negotiation, and process improvement experience.
Education & Certifications - Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Relevant EDI certifications (e.g., OpenText, IBM i EDI solutions) are a plus .
