Iron Melt Operator 

Location: Onsite – Kohler, WI 

Competitive Compensation: $27.77 plus $1.50 per hour shift premium 

Shift: 3rd Shift: 9:00PM – 5:18AM

We are looking for an Iron Melt Operator to join our Cast Iron division. We offer a diverse array of growth opportunities within our manufacturing divisions. This position will be based at our Kohler, Wisconsin location. We specialize in manufacturing high-quality cast iron products. 

Crafting Excellence: Your Responsibilities 

• Use of pneumatic chipping hammer and masonry/brick saw  

• Perform ladle patch/rebuild with misc. refractories, perform  

• Melt baghouse bag change out 

• Perform Auto-pour furnace chip/patch 

• Perform Melt furnace chip/patch 

• Melt furnace knockout and reline as needed 

• Yard Crane, HMC and Preheat operations 

• Scrap load check-in, after time duties will include slagging, charging, tapping melt furnaces as directed by Control Technician 

• Fork lift certification is required, etc.  

• Clean up duties will be assigned as needed by supervision.  

• PPE requirements are, but not limited to: 3.0 tinted safety glasses, slip off safety shoes with metatarsal guards, respirator, coveralls, etc.  

• Schedule reflects production lines.

Skills/Requirements

• Must be able to work in the US without restriction or sponsorship. 

• Effective communication skills for manufacturing production processes. 

• Must be at least 18 years old. 

• Preferred Qualifications 

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred. 

• 1+ year of manufacturing, industrial, or warehouse experience preferred.

• Physical Capability: Ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodation including but not limited to bending, lifting, and pushing weight.
