Job Description

Security Engineers is seeking dedicated unarmed security officers to help maintain safe and secure environments for our clients. Officers play a vital role in deterring incidents through visibility, vigilance, and proactive engagement. Responsibilities include patrolling, monitoring access points, verifying identification, responding to alarms/emergencies, and maintaining detailed logs. This role requires professionalism, strong observational skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid security officer/guard license as required by state licensing authority
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must have a good motor vehicle record (MVR)
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Patrol & Surveillance: Conduct walking/vehicle patrols to identify and report safety concerns; monitor access points; verify IDs and credentials; monitor surveillance systems for threats or suspicious activity
  • Incident Response & Reporting: Respond to alarms, emergencies, and incidents per protocol; maintain accurate logs of activities and incidents; perform routine security tasks (e.g., locking/unlocking doors)
  • Customer Service & Policy Enforcement: Assist visitors and employees professionally; enforce site-specific post orders and security protocols; ensure compliance with SEI and client policies (e.g., smoking, loitering, parking)
Required Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to perform in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
  • Weekend availability if needed
  • Strong situational awareness and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in critical situations
  • Basic computer skills; ability to use tablets for reporting
Preferred
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
Physical Requirements (subject to change based on client-specific needs)
  • Stand/sit for at least 1 hour without break
  • Walk a minimum of mile without stopping
  • Climb at least 20 commercial facility stairs without stopping
Education & Experience
  • Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent; no prior experience required
  • Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent; 2+ years of verifiable customer service experience
