Position Type: Full-Time
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Outpatient Clinic)

Start Date: June 1, 2025

Compensation and Benefits:

• W-2 Compensation: $350,000 base salary
• Paid Time Off: 26 days off (3 weeks vacation + 11 federal holidays), with potential to negotiate up to 4 weeks of PTO.
• 1099 Option: $200 per hour

• Malpractice Insurance: Provided for W-2 position

Job Description:

Join our dedicated team at the Atlanta VA Medical Clinics as a full-time Psychiatrist (MD/DO) . This is a unique opportunity to provide specialized mental health care to veterans in need. You will work across multiple clinics within a 30-minute radius of Atlanta, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of psychologists and LCSWs to deliver comprehensive mental health services.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct psychiatric assessments and treatment for veterans in an outpatient setting.
• Perform 1-hour initial evaluations for new patients and 30-minute follow-up visits for returning patients.
• Develop tailored treatment plans and provide ongoing psychiatric management for various mental health conditions.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic patient care.
• Maintain accurate patient records in the CPRS EMR system, adhering to VA policies.
• Advocate for veterans' mental health needs and promote wellness in the community.

Patient Load:

• 10 patients per day
• 1-hour initial consultations for new patients
• 30-minute follow-up visits for returning patients

Requirements:

• Education: MD/DO with a focus in psychiatry.
• Experience: Must have worked in a mental health setting within the last 6 months.
• Licensing: Any U.S. State Medical License accepted. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
• Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is required.
• References: Current CV with all gaps explained (within the last 6 months) and names/numbers of 3 references.

Required Health Documentation:

• MMR
• Hepatitis B
• Varicella
• Tetanus (Td)
• PPD
• Flu Vaccination (current)

Certifications:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

Background Check:

• Fingerprints/background check required.

Privileging Details:

• Timeline for privileging: 6 weeks
