Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the civil mental health court liaison for CREOKS Spring Creek Recovery Centers & CREOKS CCBHC/CMHC Outpatient Clinics through coordination and liaising with county district courts and staff.
  • Coordinates all civil mental health court related matters for CREOKS including but not limited to involuntarily court commitment, assisted outpatient treatment (AOT), court ordered outpatient (CCOP) treatment, facilitating tele court, filing legal documents, serving legal paperwork, electronic medical record tasks and documentation, and monitoring and coordinating outpatient clinics’ adherence to court orders and requirements.
  • Provides supportive education and advocacy to clients, identified advocates, family members, support persons, CREOKS personnel and external community partners related to civil mental health processes.
  • Educates clients about their rights, responsibilities, and appeals related to civil mental health court processes.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of all current policies and procedures of the agency as well as State of Oklahoma Administrative Rules, Title 43A Oklahoma Mental Health Law (standards for protective custody, emergency detention, care, and adjudication of persons considered in need of involuntary treatment) and other applicable, state and federal regulations.
  • Maintains strict adherence to timelines and requirements outlined in Title 43A, state and federal regulations, and court orders.
  • Ensures confidentiality of all client information and maintains clinical records in accordance with state and federal laws/rules/regulations and CREOKS policies and procedures.
  • Provides support to case management through completion of duties outline in case manager job description.
  • Demonstrates excellent attention to detail and verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Exhibits a non-judgmental approach, effective listening, good eye contact, and positive interactions as well as courteously assists others in a concise, informative manner with positive tone and appropriate non-verbal behaviors.
  • Contributes to effective teamwork by combining skills and energies in a coordinated effort with supervisors, co-workers, guests, and outside agencies.
  • Assist individuals within the community, detention centers, court settings, and crisis settings with re-engagement in identified services.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications/Competencies Required:

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in a mental health related field, Case Management Certification and 2 years’ experience as a case manager. 2 years’ experience in psychiatric crisis or inpatient hospital setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of standards related to protective custody, emergency detention, voluntary/informal admissions, inpatient and outpatient treatment, and adjudication of persons considered in need of involuntary treatment as prescribed by Title 43-A, Oklahoma Mental Health Law and other state and federal regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team and with court systems.
  • Demonstrate competence in CPR and all deescalation techniques and be able to physically perform all these tasks. Successful completion of agency-required training as well as the agency approved nonviolent crisis deescalation training within 30 days from date of hire.
  • Ability to maintain flexible hours and to work on-site and via tele.
  • Must have a valid OK driver’s license.
  • Must be able to pass and complete DHS licensing and background check requirements for working with children.
