Porter-Gaud School is an Episcopal, independent, coeducational day school of 1,650 students in preschool through grade 12. The School is seeking a full-time Upper School History Teacher who will be responsible for instructing Upper School students in World History with potential coverage for US Government, in accordance with the content and objectives of the curriculum prescribed by the Upper School division. Our Upper School division is comprised of grades 9 through 12. Experience with teaching honors courses, such as Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate, is preferred.
The Upper School History Teacher will display a continuous commitment to developing the attitudes, knowledge, and skills (intercultural competence) to engage in appropriate and effective communication with students, colleagues, and families from diverse backgrounds and perspectives. Reporting: The Upper School History teacher will report directly to the Head of the Upper School and will take direction from the History Department Chair.
